Imperial Hotel Malta

Imperial Hotel Malta The Imperial Hotel is a jewel of classical and historical value, and has a rich history dating back to the golden era of the 19th century. The hotel is located in the Sliema city centre, famous for both shopping and sight seeing. Established in 1865, the hotel boasts an architectural influence of the high Victorian period. At that time Malta was a British colony and many of the people starting imitating British lifestyles, including building their stately homes along their architectural styles. In fact the Imperial Hotel boasts a grandiose sweeping staircase in its lobby. It is one of the most beautiful examples of such staircases still found today, and in fact it was featured in a movie by Roger Moore in the 1970s. The hotel has several unique pieces amongst which a lovely mantelpiece clock dating back from Louis XIV, some beautiful antique mirrors in the lobby, sophisticated open fireplace and discreet lounge areas. The spacious bedrooms reflect the antique style of the hotel, equipped with remote controlled A/C and heating and TVs. The colonial style hotel is most appreciated by the third age tourists.
